Sustainability

Why choose Esselle Home Wallpaper?
As a major UK supplier of wallpaper, we are proud to be FSC certified and to be sourcing from FSC certified factories.
A sustainable business means not only providing products and services that satisfy the customer but do so without jeopardising the environment and operating in an ethical and socially responsible manner.
Sustainably sourced raw materials
There is no getting away from the fact that a lot of wood pulp in used in our paper and non woven substrates. The wood pulp in our substrates is from highly sustainable eucalyptus, spruce and pine trees grown in FSC certified forests, which means constant replanting to ensure sustainability. All our wallpaper products are EU Timber Regulation (EUTR) compliant. This means we can trace all timber used in our wallpaper back to the managed forest where it was grown to ensure it was legally harvested.
One of the pulp mills is currently lowering its carbon emissions by transporting logs by barges that carry the equivalent of 170 trucks. Also, by purifying and reusing most of their waste water, recycling production waste and generating their own electricity they are minimising their environmental impact and becoming more eco efficient.
Eco-friendly printing
The printing companies we use are also working towards being more eco friendly. The printing inks used on most of our wallpapers are water-based, resulting in better indoor air quality and less harm to the environment.
Nothing is wasted! One printing company has an on-site water treatment plant that treats waste inks by separating the water from the ink pigment. The waste water is then recycled and reused in the plant.
What do you do with the separated ink pigment I hear? Well, it is transported to a local incinerator. Any fumes are filtered resulting in negligible emissions to the air.
Another note to add, all our packaging is recyclable!
Esselle Home commitment
It’s important to us that you know the product you have purchased has not only been designed with passion but also to be as sustainable as possible.
Quality Assured

These activities are realized through the provision of resources and training. Procedures and processes are subject to regular review and evaluation. Results and trends are subject to remedial and corrective action where necessary.
BEST PRACTICE is a method or technique that has consistently shown results superior to those achieved with other means, and that is used as a benchmark. In addition, a "best" practice can evolve to become better as improvements are discovered
