Two British interiors brands come together to bring the Exotic Islander campaign to life

A beautiful interior rarely comes down to one product. It is the relationship between colour, pattern, texture and material that makes a room feel complete.

For the launch of the new Exotic Islander collection, Esselle Home partnered with British wood flooring specialists Ted Todd to create the campaign photography, bringing together two UK interiors brands with a shared appreciation for considered design, craftsmanship and the importance of the complete room.

From richly patterned walls and statement fabrics to tactile upholstery and natural timber flooring, every element of the shoot was selected to work together. The result is a series of layered, characterful interiors that capture the Exotic Islander philosophy perfectly.

Designed to feel like somewhere else

Exotic Islander is Esselle Home’s composed take on island-inspired design, reimagining tropical influences through a more refined lens.

Layered botanicals, softened geometrics and intricate detailing create depth without excess, while a grounded palette of muted greens, sun-washed terracottas and relaxed neutrals brings warmth to the collection. Tactile fabrics and subtle textures add another dimension, creating interiors that feel collected and comfortable rather than overly styled.

The collection has been created around one of the principles at the heart of Esselle Home: products should naturally belong together.

Rather than treating wallpaper, fabric and soft furnishings as individual decisions, Exotic Islander gives each element a relationship with the next, making it easier to build a complete and confident interior scheme.

For the campaign photography, we wanted that thinking to extend even further.

Right down to the floor.

Starting with the foundations

Flooring has an enormous influence on how an interior feels.

It can warm a colour palette, soften a stronger pattern and help connect one room to another. For Exotic Islander, the character and natural variation of Ted Todd wood flooring provided the perfect foundation for the schemes.

Against the collection’s expressive wallpapers and fabrics, the timber introduces something quieter and organic. Its grain and tonal variation provide texture without demanding attention, allowing the different elements of the room to sit comfortably alongside one another.

In the terracotta scheme, warm herringbone flooring grounds a combination of delicate striped wallpaper, tonal painted woodwork and richly textured upholstery.

The warmth of the timber echoes the sun-washed terracottas used throughout Exotic Islander, creating a room that feels tonal and layered without every surface needing to match.

It is exactly the type of interior the collection was designed to create.

Pattern meets natural texture

The deeper green schemes reveal another side of the collaboration.

Rich geometric wallpaper creates an enveloping backdrop, while botanical designs appear through adjoining rooms, curtains and soft furnishings. Beneath everything, natural wood flooring brings warmth and balance to the darker palette.

The campaign demonstrates one of our favourite approaches to decorating with pattern: a coordinated interior does not mean repeating the same design everywhere.

Instead, consider how materials share colour, mood and texture.

A geometric wallpaper, botanical curtain and natural timber floor may each be very different individually, but when considered together they create a space that feels connected.

That thinking runs throughout Exotic Islander. Designs including Novena Green, Solana Green, Palmera Green and Banyan Green have been developed as part of the same wider interior story, allowing wallpaper, window treatments and upholstery to work together without simply repeating one motif.

Creating rooms with depth

The photography also explores how pattern can move between rooms.

One scheme takes an expressive large-scale botanical wallpaper and pairs it with a more delicate coordinating stripe beyond the doorway. Another uses a deep green geometric wallcovering alongside painted architectural details, glimpses of palm motifs and warm timber flooring.

Elsewhere, lighter wood provides an almost sun-bleached foundation for terracotta, cream and blue, allowing the warmer tones of the collection to take centre stage.

These details matter because a room is never experienced as a collection of isolated products.

Wallpaper sets the atmosphere.

Fabric introduces softness and movement.

Furniture gives the room form.

Flooring provides the foundation that connects everything together.

Two British interiors brands working together

There is something particularly fitting about bringing Esselle Home and Ted Todd together for the Exotic Islander campaign.

While Esselle Home approaches the room through pattern, colour and coordinated decorative products, Ted Todd approaches it through the natural material underfoot.

The disciplines may be different, but the intention is remarkably similar: creating interiors with character by considering the room as a whole.

The spaces feel expressive without becoming overpowering. Pattern is balanced by natural materials. Deeper colours are lifted by warm timber. Botanical references are offset by quieter geometric details.

Most importantly, the rooms feel liveable.

That is ultimately what Exotic Islander is about. Creating interiors that offer a sense of escape while still feeling at home, and giving you the ingredients to build a space that feels layered, considered and completely your own.
